Congrats to the Graduating Class!
Congratulations to the January 2007 class of the DAVE School! The class, which completed the animated film, Creepers, graduated on December 20th of 2006.  The project was directed by DAVE School instructor, Lee Stringer, and Mark Simon, owner of an independent animation and storyboard company in Orlando, and featured the hard work of the 17 graduates. Creepers has the honor of being the second DAVE School movie geared directly towards children, following the well received Dragonfellow.

The graduation ceremony was held at the Universal Studios Cineplex, located at Universal City Walk.  After opening remarks from Jeff Scheetz, and speeches from the directors, the movie was projected to the delight of a crowd of friends and family. The audience was also treated to a short behind-the-scenes look at how the movie came together, moving from storyboards to finished animation.

Creepers was an amazing success and a triumph of student animation. Look for “Creepers” soon, in the DAVE School Movie Theater. They’re Creepy!

Making of a Box Car on 3D Total
DAVE School Student, Chris Jennings was recently published at 3DTotal.com with his "Making of The Box Car."

Chris said, "This box car is based on a train model hand painted by Ron Thornton. The project took about a week and a half. I used reference pictures of the model box car and measurements to create it to scale. The making of the box car is broken down into modeling, texturing, lighting, and compositing."
