Prospective
students must have proof of a high school diploma or equivalent.
If an applicant is under 18, he or she must provide written consent
of a parent or guardian. Applicants need not have any previous
animation experience, but a strong desire to become a professional
computer animator is necessary. Applicants should also possess
common computer and Internet usage skills. All prospective students
will be interviewed in person or by telephone by a DAVE School
instructor or admissions specialist. That interview is meant
to assess the applicant's personal goals to determine if he or
she will benefit from attending the DAVE School.
The DAVE School is a private school, and as such, reserves the right to be selective in its choice of students for enrollment. Because of our very unique curriculum, the DAVE School rarely grants advanced standing or credit for previous training or education. Advance Standing and transfer of credit is evaluated on a case by case basis. Those interested should schedule a meeting with the School Director as soon as possible.

You may also contact us with any questions or to set up a tour.
We do not have an illustration or traditional art prerequisite. While those are valuable skills that you will find useful, we believe that 3D modeling and animation is a completely unique art form.
In fact, we place equal value on experience in filmmaking, sculpture, theater, web-design, stagecraft, acting, painting, writing, music, programming, lighting, model building, crafts, or just about any creative endeavor. Ultimately we are seeking students who are creative by nature, not intimidated by computers, and driven to excellence. If that is you, we can teach you everything else.
